How it works.
How it feels.

Those two questions keep pulling me back to the web. There’s the engineering that makes something possible, and the care that makes it a pleasure to use.

I’ve been building for the web since 2012. The work has taken me from a digital agency in Edinburgh to cybersecurity products on the French Riviera. My degree is in Interactive Media Design; design and engineering have always been part of the same conversation for me.

These days, I’m a Principal Software Engineer at Sophos. Much of my work is about making complicated systems feel coherent: shared foundations, clear interfaces, and patterns that help both the people using a product and the engineers building it.

My focus is frontend architecture for complex, data-intensive products, working across Angular, React, and TypeScript. That includes design systems and platform integration, but also the less visible work: documentation, developer experience, and helping other engineers find their footing.

I’m making a home here for small tools, interface experiments, and notes on technology, design, and AI. A place to share what I’m building, what I’m learning, and what I’m still trying to understand.

The projects are where ideas take shape. The writing is a chance to share the thinking behind them: useful discoveries, decisions along the way, and questions still open.
